"Not all who wander are lost" is one of my favourite quotes!
Even though I grew up on Tyddyn Du farm overlooking the Moelwyn mountain range and surrounding Eryri mountains, I never really truly appreciated the beauty of them until my mid twenties when I started walking with my chocolate Labrador 'Bud'.
One day I decided that I wanted to walk/climb all the mountains that we can see from Tyddyn Du. I'm pleased to say I completed the challenge many years ago and the feeling of achievements and freedom you get when you have reached a summit is like no other. I can now say that walking and hiking is one of my favourite things to do.
In my opinion you don't need to climb the highest, well know mountains to get the waw factor. It's a pretty special feeling when you find some remote mountains, still get amazing views and have it all to yourself. ☺️
Back to the quote..... I've always thought of myself as a bit of a wanderer, this is how I find cool new places right? Although, I may have found myself in a few tricky situations over the years! 🫣
It's a bit of a running joke with my family, after my walks, my Mum asks if I got lost! I prefer to call it an impromptu exploration of the mountains. ☺️
I hope you like my photos from some of my Eryri Hikes over the years, and that I can inspire others to enjoy the tranquil beauty of our Eryri (Snowdonia) Mountains.
I'm usually more into sunsets, but since it was the shortest day of the year, we decided to take a quick hike up Manod Mawr. And let me tell you, the views during the golden hour were absolutely breathtaking!
Thank you so much for checking out my blog! - Carys
